The Liverpool forward was forced off the field in Egypt’s African Cup of Nations qualifier against Swaziland in Cairo on Saturday. The 26-year-old was expected to travel with team-mates to Swaziland for Tuesday’s return fixture. But now after assessment, the Egyptian Football Association have confirmed he will return home to Merseyside where he will continue his recovery. "Javier Aguirre [Egypt manager] has decided to let Mohamed Salah return to his club and not participate in the Swaziland match on Tuesday to give him more rest,” the statement read.
