The Moghbazar-Karwan Bazar part of the under-construction Moghbazar-Mouchak flyover will be opened to public on Wednesday morning. Local Government, Rural Development and Cooperatives Minister Khandker Mosharraf Hossain will open the portion of the flyover, Zakir Hossain, public relations officer at the LGRD Ministry, told the Dhaka Tribune on Tuesday. Initially, the flyover’s construction cost was estimated at Tk343.70 crore that was approved by the Executive Committee of the National Economic Council (Ecnec) in 2011. However, the project missed several deadlines, causing the cost to skyrocket to Tk1,218.89 crore.
