The BNP chief held a two-and-a-half-hour meeting with 15 leaders from Chittagong Monday night at her Gulshan office to know more about the reasons of the conflicts within the party in Chittagong North and Chittagong South. Party members with direct knowledge of the meeting said Khaleda expressed her annoyance about what happened during the two meetings in Chittagong earlier this month. Marty meetings in Chittagong North on May 2 and South on the following day had to be postponed after rival groups clashed. Standing committee member and former minister Khandaker Mosharraf Hossain was in charge reorganising and sorting out the difference of opinion between leaders and activists in Chittagong North and South. After the meeting Monday night, the party chief stepped in to clear the party mess in Chittagong by herself and announce the committees from the centre.
