KUALA LUMPUR: India’s Prime Minister Narendra Modi will pay an official visit to Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, India’s Ministry of External Affairs (MEA) announced today. It said the visit to Indonesia (from May 29 to 31) and Singapore (May 31 to June 2) were at the invitations of Indonesia’s President Joko Widodo and Singapore’s Prime Minister Lee Hsien Loong, respectively. “He (Narendra Modi) will also make a brief stopover in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, on May 31, 2018, to meet the newly-elected Prime Minister of Malaysia, (Tun) Dr Mahathir Mohamad,” said the MEA in a statement. In Singapore, Modi will also deliver the keynote address at the 17th Shangri-La Dialogue. The MEA said Indonesia, Malaysia and Singapore, three countries in Asean, were strategic partners of India.
