MANILA, Philippines — Telecommunications companies on Wednesday temporarily suspended mobile services in Quiapo and other nearby areas in compliance with a directive from the National Telecommunications Commission (NTC). Globe Telecom and Smart Communications have suspended their mobile phone services from 3 p.m. to 6 p.m. In a public advisory, Globe Telecom said that the NTC order is upon the instruction of the Philippine National Police.
