“We will not stoop to any political pressure and we will not allow any unauthorized cattle markets. The mobile courts will conduct eviction drives against the illegal cattle markets,” vowed DC Mesbah. “Chittagong City Corporation mayor has already been informed about conducting mobile courts against the unauthorized cattle markets. The CCC authorities have submitted a list of authorized cattle markets in the city,” said the DC, adding that livestock officers would be deployed to examine thehealth of the sacrificial animals brought into the authorized cattle markets of Chittagong. The upazila chairmen and municipal mayors of the district urged the DC to send the lists of authorized cattle markets.
