A Kansas City Democrat resigned on Monday after allegations unearthed by the Missouri House Ethics Committee said he attempted to pursue a sexual relationship with an employee and later got her fired for declining his advances. If McGee refused to agree to the committee’s terms, the final recommendation was that he be expelled from the House. ‘I regrettably submit my resignation as District 36 State Representative effective immediately. Earlier this month, another representative was scolded by the Missouri House Ethics Committee, after it was determined he’d spread a false rumor that a House employee was engaging in an affair with a lawmaker. After a several month-long investigation, Rep. Rocky Miller was said to have engaged in conduct ‘unbecoming’ of a state legislator.
