Missing large venomous snake captured in Ajax


A missing venomous snake that slithered to a conservation area east of Toronto has been captured, The Town of Ajax confirmed on Wednesday evening. After consulting with reptile experts, the town hired staff from the Indian Reptile Zoo in Peterborough to help locate the venomous copperhead snake first spotted last Sunday by a passer-by. The venomous snake was found “not too far off” from where it was first spotted. The snake has been “safely” taken to its new home at the Indian Reptile Zoo. The Toronto Zoo first identified that the snake to be a venomous copperhead, a species not native to Canada, through a photograph that the bypasser took.
