Miss Philippines Earth 2017 showcases outfits made from trash


The indigenous “Trash to Class” competition of Miss Philippines Earth 2017 was recently held at the Grand Ballroom of Versailles Palace Alabang with this year’s 40 candidates from all over the country. The Trash-to-Class Competition featured Filipino ingenuity and creativity with a collection of original creations using recycled or trashed materials. Miss Philippines Earth candidates parade their costumes made out of recycled materialRheena Mae Ferrer of Makati City won the Silver Medal with glittering white/silver jumpsuit made of aluminum tubs of soft drink cans. The Trash to Class competition is part of the Miss Philippines Earth 2017 preliminaries to determine the semifinalists after the Swimsuit (Beauty of Figure) and before the Beauty of Face/Poise, and Beauty of Intelligence competitions. The winner of Miss Philippines Earth 2017 and Miss Philippines Earth Loren Mar Artajos will pass on the crown to her at the grand coronation night at SM Mall of Asia on July 15 at 7 p.m. and telecast on ABS CBN at 10 a.m. the following day.
