Through this opening, miscreants gain access to a defunct public distribution system (PDS) outlet in R.A. Puram, which shares a wall with the playground. The ration shop was shut down as its presence was causing traffic snarls on that section. It was then relocated to a much calmer spot, a few hundred metres from the defunct ration shop. Since then, the unused PDS building has been lying idle with empty oil barrels in the backyard. With an overgrowth of thorny shrubs on its rear side, the defunct ration shop has become a den for anti-socials.
