ISLAMABAD: After orders from the Sindh High Court (SHC), Arzoo Raja, a Christian girl who was purportedly abducted and forced to marry an older Muslim man, has been recovered and shifted to a shelter home, confirmed Sindh government’s spokesperson Barrister Murtaza Wahab. The city police chief said that the girl would be sent to a shelter home as per the directions of the Sindh High Court (SHC) while the suspect would be presented before the court on Tuesday. On the Arzoo case, today judge has ordered the girl be recovered by police & relevant agencies & be shifted to a shelter home. Today Sindh High Court ordered that #Arzoo be immediately recovered by Sindh Police & produced before Court on 5th Nov & in interim be admitted in shelter home & it also noted that issues to be addressed are her age, was she forcibly converted & was her marriage legal. Meanwhile, Sindh government spokesperson Wahab had said that the court had issued the directives on an application filed by the provincial government.
