ISLAMABAD: Minister for Human Rights Shireen Mazari on Monday said the Sindh High Court (SHC) had ordered police and security agencies to shift Arzoo Raja, a Christian girl who was purportedly abducted and forced to marry an older Muslim man, to a shelter home. “The judge has ordered the girl be recovered by police and relevant agencies and shifted to a shelter home. On the Arzoo case, today judge has ordered the girl be recovered by police & relevant agencies & be shifted to a shelter home. — Shireen Mazari (@ShireenMazari1) November 2, 2020The counsel for Raja’s family, Jibran Nasir, also confirmed the development, adding that the SHC had directed that the girl be produced before the court at the next hearing. According to Raja’s family, her purported husband lived in a house opposite theirs along with his family.
