Six months ago today the government announced plans to clamp down on holiday sickness scams. This was a welcome intervention — hotels and tour operators have spent tens of millions of pounds dealing with compensation cases from people who make unsubstantiated claims to have fallen ill while on holiday — and it’s important the government puts measures in place before the main 2018 holiday season.
