The squad has created buzz among the cricket fans as some big names in the shape of all-rounder Nasir Hossain and pace duo Rubel Hossain and Al Amin Hossain are missing. However, chief national selector Minhajul Abedin clarified the trio’s exclusions while he also justified their vision regarding the selections of rookies like Ebadat Hossain, Nazmul Hossain Shanto and Tanvir Haider. We are considering Soumya as an all-rounder for the New Zealand series. Regarding Al Amin’s omission, Minhajul said, “Al-Amin was dropped because we have plenty of pace-bowling options in the squad. That’s why Al Amin was not considered.”The chief selector added that pacer Ebadat and batsman Nazmul were considered a part of their development programme.
