On the 45th National Cooperatives Day on Saturday, the premier expressed dissatisfaction saying “the movement was not carried in due manner so far.”“Please do not try to derive all the benefits at a time. The programme was organised to mark the day with this year’s theme ‘Shomobayer Dorshon - Tekshoi Unnoyon’ (cooperatives for sustainable development). She said her father Bangabandhu Sheikh Mujibur Rahman had dreamt of alleviating economic gap among people through using cooperatives as a weapon. She handed the National Cooperative Award-2014 to five cooperative societies and five individuals. She also mentioned how poverty-stricken community have been able to derive benefits from ‘Palli Sanchay Bank', or rural savings bank.
