A millionaire businessman diagnosed with cystic fibrosis learnt on the same day that he could not have fathered the three sons he believed were his. Richard Mason, 55, an early investor in the price comparison website Moneysupermarket.com, was told by doctors that infertility was an effect of the incurable genetic disease. He had had the children — including a set of twins — with first wife, Kate, 54, whom he had divorced in 2008, paying her a £4m settlement.
