One of the two militants who attacked a CRPF installation on Srinagar-Jammu National Highway near Kud in Jammu region on Monday afternoon was killed. Three CRPF jawans are reportedly injured as the cross firing is going on between security forces and a hiding militant. A police official told The Hindu the gunfire is on between the militants and the security forces. At least five attacks were carried out by militants in the past two weeks in Kashmir valley, inflicting casualties on security forces. Preliminary reports suggest two heavily armed militants disembarked from a passenger bus and opened fire at a camp near Kud area, Udhampur district, more than 100 km away from Jammu city, around 5pm.
