Mike Newell takes on new principal roleJenny CampbellIf first impressions count, Mike Newell is going to enjoy being the principal of Northern Southland College. Newell took on the principal's job at the Lumsden school at the beginning of this term, moving from Taieri College at Mosgiel. "I see the advantage the students have here with smaller numbers, meaning the teachers really know their students. "I am looking forward to working with our students, as it is all about them, as well as meeting families." He sees a good discipline system working at present and he believes that is essential for fairness and safety for all students.
