KUALA LUMPUR: Malaysian Investment Development Authority (Mida) has approved 4,084 manufacturing projects for Penang with investments totalling RM129.1bil as of 2018. Mida said it approved foreign investments in the manufacturing sector totalling RM90.4bil, or 70% of total investments approved for the state. The other 30% was from domestic investments and they accounted for RM38.7bil. In 2018, Mida approved 108 manufacturing projects worth RM5.8bil to be located in Penang. The Invest Series event highlighted the comparative and competitive advantages of investing in Penang.
