MidCentral District Health Board chief executive Kathryn Cook is attending the World Health Assembly and adding on a study tour. Chief executive Kathryn Cook has attended the World Health Assembly in Geneva, Switzerland, invited and paid for by the Ministry of Health. Cook was the only health board chief executive from New Zealand at the World Health Assembly. The theme was "Universal health coverage: leaving no-one behind", with a focus on the World Health Organisation's triple billion targets. Director-General of Health Ashley Bloomfield, who led New Zealand's team to the assembly, said it was useful to have a board chief executive attend.
