Microsoft may have confirmed the existence of the Xbox Scorpio at last year's E3, but up until now the tech giant has been heavy on the superlatives and light on the specifics. The console is meant to be an enthusiast upgrade to the base model Xbox One, not unlike the PS4 Pro, out last fall. Microsoft is choosing to do this initial reveal with Digital Foundry, a hardware-oriented vertical of Eurogamer known for intense detail on graphics capabilities. Both the PS4 Pro and the Xbox Scorpio represent a new concept for the console industry, somewhat akin to the constantly upgrading world of PCs but with the simplicity of consoles, for better and for worse.
