During the Xbox 360 years, it seemed like that project was well on track, providing momentum that led the company toward the troubled Xbox One reveal. There is nothing about the Xbox Scorpio designed to appeal to the casual gamer. But it's hard not to see things like Microsoft's about-face on the Xbox Scorpio as the inevitable aftereffect of mobile. It isn't that those large demographics of non-core gamers aren't playing games -- they most definitely are -- just that they aren't doing so with dedicated consoles. Microsoft has gotten a lot of good buzz off of this reveal, and for right now the core seems to be piqued.
