(CNN) Michael Nader, the actor best known for playing Farnsworth "Dex" Dexter on the hit soap "Dynasty," has died age 76. A statement from Nader's wife, Jodi Lister, to Michaelfairmantv.com, read: "With heavy heart, I'm sharing the news of the passing of my beloved, Michael. Nader's acting career spanned several decades after he landed his first acting gig in William Asher's 1963 comedy "Beach Party." Joan Collins (Alexis) and Michael Nader (Dex Dexter) in a bathroom scene on the set of TV series "Dynasty" where Dex threatens Alexis with a gun while she is taking a bubble bath. He rose to prominence in 1983 when he joined the cast of "Dynasty" as the love interest of Alexis Carrington, played by Joan Collins.
