Mexico led the first half 2-0 in the bronze medal game as midfielder Sebastian Cordova converted the penalty successfully and defender Johan Vasquez scored to double the lead at Saitama Stadium in Tokyo. Japanese winger Kaoru Mitoma netted for his team in the minute 78 to name the result 3-1 for Mexico. Brazil and Spain will vie for the gold medal in Tokyo 2020 on Saturday. The final will be held at International Stadium Yokohama.
