NewsShowers or thundershowers will occur at a few places in Northern, Eastern, Uva and North-central provinces and in Nuwara-Eliya district after 02.00 pm today (31), the Met Department stated. Fairly strong gusty winds up to (40-50) kmph can be expected in Hambantota and Matale districts, it added. There may be temporary localized strong winds during thundershowers. General public isrequested to take adequate precautions to minimize damages caused by lightning activity.
