Met Éireann issues ice warning as temperatures plummet in Roscommon


Temperatures in the county got down to almost minus 3 degrees this morning, Met Éireann has said. Nationally the lowest overnight air temperature was -3.8 degrees recorded at Casement Aerodrome, Baldonnel, Dublin at 6:00 am. This morning Met Éireann issued a low temperature/ice warning for the whole country, warning of possible difficult travelling conditions. The warning will come into effect at 6 p.m. this evening and last until 11 a.m. tomorrow morning. Met Éireann highlighted that the cold weather could create issues for vulnerable people as well as animal welfare issues.
