The Wirral pub - formerly The James Atherton - was renamed in a cheeky swipe at three senior Tories. The trio have been roundly criticised for failing to control the coronavirus pandemic, reports the Liverpool Echo. Pubs, gyms and betting shops have been forced to close across Liverpool in a bid to stop surging infection rates. While Karl Benson, tweeted : "Splendid new sign at the James Atherton pub in New Brighton"And Ben Jonno, added: "Love where I live. Brilliant this from The James Atherton down New Brighton".
