IN spite of the cancellation of the country’s hosting of the 10th Asean Para Games this year, gold multi-medalist Josephine Medina is psyched to improve her offensive game in table tennis through intensive training. While doing drills at home in Marikina City, she focuses on offensive tactics, counterattacks and aggressive combinations. In a phone interview The Manila Times on Friday, she expressed her firm belief that athletes should face reality with strength and maturity. “This is just a temporary setback since the top priority here is the welfare of the people,” points out the realist. If the 10th Asean Para Games will neither be held nor hosted by the Philippines anymore this year, the nation’s flag will still be raised in the Vietnam Games in 2021.
