Inter-Service Public Relations Directorate or ISPR Director Lt Col Rashidul Hasan told bdnews24.com on Friday, "The report is baseless." Indian daily The Telegraph ran a report on Wednesday, where it said that as many 20 former and serving officers gathered on Oct 21 at the house of a retired general in Dhaka. Citing several unnamed sources in Dhaka and New Delhi, it claimed that a former army chief attended the meeting. It also cited an anonymous source saying that the government has identified the serving officers, who were at the meeting and that the process of removing them have started. "The sources, however, were silent on whether the meeting discussed plans for a change of guard or an alternative political formation that will be backed by the officers," reads the Telegraph report.
