The Border Security Force (BSF) of India has detained a Bangladeshi national, even though he was carrying valid travel documents, from Sardar Para area in Mekhliganj subdivision of Cooch Behar district in West Bengal. The location is on the other side of Bangladesh’s Burimari land port in Patgram upazila of Lalmonirhat. Border Guard Bangladesh’s (BGB) 15th Battalion in Lalmonirhat said Md Shakib Hossain, 20, from Patgram’s Munglibari area, had a valid Bangladeshi passport with a valid Indian visa on him when he was taken into BSF custody on Thursday.
