Prime Minister’s Media Affairs Adviser and noted journalist Iqbal Sobhan Chowdhury has sought a strong role of the media to cement the existing good relationship between Bangladesh and India. “The friendship between the two neighbours has stood the test of time and it has been an example for the world to emulate, and the press of both the countries can play a vital role to inculcate this feeling among the people,” Iqbal Sobhan said. He also noted that the minority communities, including the Hindus, are staying peacefully in Bangladesh. “About 30,000 community Durga Pujas were organised across Bangladesh this year, which is higher than the total number of Pujas last year.”Iqbal Sobhan also assured that Bangladesh is committed not to let any anti-Indian outfit use its soil. He later attended a cultural programme organised by local news channel, Headlines Tripura, as the chief guest.
