"Our first preference (to allot shops) are medallists from athletics, hockey, archery, wrestling and football. Medallists from kabaddi, wushu, cycling, badminton, volleyball, kho-kho, handball, among other disciplines, are next in our order of preference," Jaiswal said. Since it was a stadium, the focus would be on shops directly or indirectly related to sports and sports goods, Jaiswal added. "Once those are done, we will send the file for the government's approval before allotments of shops," he said. Ahead of the 34th National Games in 2011, state government renovated the existing Birsa football stadium by increasing its capacity and landscaping it.
