It was another landmark day for the Canadian swimmers at the 2022 FINA World Championships in Budapest, Hungary. 15-year old Toronto native Summer McIntosh blitzed to a 2:02.20 time which smashed her own record to win her second medal of the games. Then, 19-year old Josh Liendo Edwards (Markham) nabbed bronze in the 100m freestyle final, finishing just behind the 17-year old Romanian sensation David Popovici. Oleskiak was unable to claw back either countries in the final drag, so Canada settled for a bronze medal.
