Not even a swim in the Waimakariri River could deny Richie McCaw and Rob Nichol a fourth place section finish at the Coast to Coast. McCaw got a taste of the Coast to Coast two years ago, when he and wife Gemma McCaw, the former Black Sticks hockey star, had a crack at the mountain run. Adventure racing enthusiasts McCaw and Nichol have also previously teamed up at the Godzone and Defiance events. Ticking off the full length Coast to Coast for the first time was a major thrill for two-time World Cup winning captain McCaw.
