Jonathan Lisus and Paul Michell, the two lawyers representing Niman, argued there is no evidence the high-profile lawyer has confidential information about McCain and that the only reason she wants to ban him is because she “fears” him. Melanson replied in court documents saying McCain, a singer and songwriter, was trying to “run a smear campaign” against him. On Wednesday, Melanson and McCain sat on opposite ends of the courtroom, never once looking at one another. But Lisus countered, saying it is McCain who is trying to gain the tactical advantage with the attempt to disqualify Niman.
