Photo: ODT filesInvercargill City Council’s chief executive has acknowledged she was wrong to share the contents of an email intercepted from Mayor Sir Tim Shadbolt. Clare Hadley told the Otago Daily Times a review would be carried out into the sharing of the contents of the email which Mayor Sir Tim Shadbolt sent to media. On Monday, Sir Tim told a Local Democracy Reporter he believed the council’s chief executive accessed his email and used it against him at a chairmen’s meeting last week. ‘‘Although these arrangements were agreed, I should not have shared the contents of an email the mayor issued to media last week. ‘‘I know situations which employers can read emails from their employees but, in this case, the chief executive is their employee.
