Police have submitted a charge-sheet against 38 people including local municipality mayor Halimul Haque Miru to a local court in journalist Abdul Hakim Shimul murder case at Shahjadpur upazila of Sirajganj. Senior Judicial Magistrate Md Hasibul Haq of Shahjadpur Cognizance Court accepted the charge-sheet on Tuesday afternoon after Shahjadpur police station’s Inspector Md Monirul Islam, also the investigation officer (IO), submitted it. The IO also submitted the shotgun and 41 bullets belonging to Miru, the prime accused, and a pipe-gun owned by his brother Mintu, three months after the incident. Afterwards, the victim’s wife, Nurunnahar Begum, filed the case with the police station accusing 40 people including 18 identified suspects. Till date, Miru, Pintu and 12 other accused have been arrested in the case.
