Match fixing allegation puts Division One League on hold indefinitely

The Division One League Board (DOLB) has announced that all remaining matches to be played in Zone One of the ongoing GN Bank Division One league “have been put on hold indefinitely in order to have judicial cases fully resolved”. According to an official release by the DOLB on the Ghana Football Association (GFA) official website, the decision to halt the league has been necessitated by seeming tension increasing in Zone One over match fixing allegation. “The decision has been taken in the wake of alleged bribery and match fixing claims made by some supporters of BA United after their match day 28 game against Bolga All Stars FC at the Sunyani Coronation Park. The GFA Ethics Committee has since been tasked to launch investigations into the alleged match fixing matter and ascertain the full facts in the case before the league could continue in the Zone. The DOLB claims this bold step to is ensure a more competitive league with each club competing fairly.
