Building cost inflation eases to 5.9% in November 2025 - GSS


Business News of Saturday, 27 December 2025Source: ghanaiantimes.com.ghThe country’s year-on-year inflation for the building and construction industry eased to 5.9 per cent in November 2025, down from 7.8 per cent in October 2025. This marks the seventh consecutive decline in year-on-year inflation and represents a 1.9 percentage point drop from the October figure. On a month-on-month basis, inflation for November 2025 stood at 0.4 per cent, indicating that the general price level of building materials increased marginally. The easing of materials inflation, which declined to 4.2 per cent in November from 6.3 per cent in October, was the primary driver of the November Prime Building Cost Index (PBCI) inflation. In contrast, materials inflation declined to 4.2 per cent, contributing 54.7 per cent to the headline rate, while plant and equipment inflation eased to 5.3 per cent.
