The first page of the Augusta National spectator guide includes a statement on “conduct, customs and etiquette” written by the late Bobby Jones in 1967. In essence, displays of exuberance are strictly forbidden and anyone who ignores that advice risks being thrown off the course. So the atmosphere this week around these storied acres is not hugely different from any other year. But step outside and take a walk down the gaudy strip of Washington Road and a rather different picture emerges. Out here, the Tiger effect is in full swing, with more touts than the city has seen since Woods was in his all-conquering prime.
