Cricket Australia are staring down the barrel of a potential disaster ahead of the Boxing Day test between the Black Caps and Aussies. The final match at the MCG before the summer's showpiece test in less than three weeks was officially abandoned on Sunday due to an unsafe pitch. The abandonment will be a concern to New Zealand Cricket and the Black Caps' players as they prepare for one of their biggest test matches in the last decade. MCG club chief Stuart Fox reportedly remains confident a quality pitch will be delivered for one of the biggest Black Caps tests in the last decade. The Black Caps open their three test series against Australia in Perth on Thursday.
