Marshalls EA delists from the Nairobi bourse

Loss-making auto dealer Marshalls East Africa on Tuesday delisted from the Nairobi Securities Exchange bringing the total number of NSE exits to four in recent years. The NSE said the exit followed the resolution by shareholders of the company and the subsequent approval by the Capital Markets Authority. “All shareholders of the company, investors and the general public are asked to take note of the delisting,” NSE noted in the statement. In April, Marshalls EA announced the firm’s board had resolved to return its entire shareholding to private hands in a bid to help the company return to profitability. Three other firms that have delisted include CMC Holdings which was bought by Al Futtaim of Dubai in 2015, Access Kenya which was acquired by South Africa’s Dimension Data in January 2014 and Rea Vipingo.
