SCOTTSDALE, Ariz The Maple Leafs welcomed back Mitch Marner and Pierre Engvall to practice on Friday, both having cleared COVID-19 protocols that sidelined them for three games. But the club skated without forwards Nick Ritchie, Ondrej Kaše and defenceman Justin Holl, all three having been forced into COVID protocol. A total of 20 Maple Leafs players have entered the protocol since the team struggled through its December outbreak. The Leafs practised in Arizona on Friday and will head to St. Louis for a game Saturday night.
