NEW DELHI: The S&P BSE Consumer Durables index was outperforming benchmark Sensex in afternoon trade on Friday.The BSE Consumer Durables index was trading 2.17 per cent up at 20,478, while the benchmark Sensex was 1 per cent up at 33,442 around 2.10 pm (IST). The NSE Nifty50 index was also 1 per cent up at 10,317.Shares of PC Jeweller (up 5.17 per cent), Titan Company (up 3.49 per cent) and Whirlpool of India (up 2.42 per cent) were the top gainers in the BSE Consumer Durables index.On the other hand, shares of Bajaj Electricals (down 0.12 per cent) were trading in the red around that time.Benchmark BSE Sensex was 335 points up at 33,442, while the NSE Nifty50 index was 101 points up at 10,316.Among the 51 stocks in the Nifty50 index, 34 were trading in the green, while 16 were in the red.Cipla, ICICI Bank , HDFC, Tata Steel Sun Pharma and Tata Motors were the top gainers in the Sensex index.On the contrary, Infosys Wipro , Oil & Natural Gas Corporation and Asian Paints were among the top losers.
