Mark Carney was banned from private sector work for six months after leaving his job as governor of the Bank of EnglandMark Carney, the former Bank of England governor, is joining Brookfield Asset Management of Canada to expand its social and environmental investment division. It will be the first full-time role he has taken since his term at the Bank ended on March 15, early in the pandemic. Under Bank rules, the governor is barred from private sector work for six months, which ends in September. Mr Carney will join the Toronto firm, which has $550 billion of assets under management, as vice chairman with a specific focus on sustainable investment.
