V Shem who won a silver medal with Tan Wee Kiong at the 2016 Rio Olympics had already officially registered his marriage to Pui Mei on May 7. Before that, V Shem who hails from Setapak had proposed to the love of his life on Valentine’s Day earlier this year while dining at a restaurant in Bukit Damansara. Both past and present national badminton players also attended the reception to celebrate V Shem’s marriage to Pui Mei. V Shem and Pui Mei, 29, a graphic designer by profession, did their pre-wedding photoshoot in Austria. Earlier, BAM separated V Shem and Wee Kiong after the pair experienced a dip in performance.
