There seems to be an upsurge in rape cases in Nigeria. It was found that almost one-third of all rape victims develop PSD at some time in their lifetime. Many rape victims have thoughts of guilt and terror and blame themselves for the assault. Why do many rape victims find it difficult to report or talk about the incident? How can families help rape victims reintegrate themselves into society?
