In recent years, a bit more than half of all farms had negative farm income. We already have high concentrations of farm production in relatively few hands. Mid-sized have gross farm income between $350,000 and $999,999 a year and represent 6.3% of farms and 22.6% of all production. The business environment is pushing small farmers out of the picture. Huge concentration of farm production may be efficient.
