Manufacturing PMI continues to strengthenhome/Business/Top Business/Manufacturing PMI continues to strengthenThe Philippine manufacturing sector continued to strengthen in November, results of the latest IHS Markit/Nikkei survey showed on Monday, with the Purchasing Managers Index (PMI) rising for a fourth straight month to an 11-month high. The PMI takes into account new orders, output, employment, suppliers’ delivery time and stocks. “Output growth remained sharp in Philippines’ manufacturing sector during November, building confidence for stronger GDP (gross domestic product) growth in the fourth quarter,” IHS Markit economist David Owen said in a statement. The IHS economist, however, warned of dampened output growth next year should the trend continue. Input price growth, meanwhile, was the weakest so far for the year, leading to an easing in output charges to their lowest since June.
