A central Otago man has appeared on a charge of manslaughter following the death of a 19-year-old man in a car crash in Alexandra in August. Scott David Millar (19), labourer, appeared before the registrar in the Alexandra District Court yesterday. He is charged with causing the death of Ravineel Avikash Sharma by an unlawful act, namely driving recklessly, and thereby committing manslaughter, in Alexandra on August 10. Mr Sharma (19) died in a single-vehicle crash on Coates Rd, near Alexandra Airport. Millar is also charged with driving recklessly and causing injury in Alexandra on August 10.
